Mediation at the heart of research!

  • While being a program of Cap Sciences, part of our activities take place at the Pessac Archaeological Centre.
  • This space is one of the major archaeological repositories of the Gironde. It houses a large part of the archaeological collections from the region's excavations. This place of conservation and study is reserved for researchers, archaeology and anthropology students from the Universities of Bordeaux.
  • During the activities, the public has the opportunity to visit the centre and to see the research being carried out by meeting the various specialists.
  • We have three rooms available for our public: a documentation room, an excavation site and a study laboratory.
 

The Archéo team

A team of archaeologists-mediators accompanies you to help you discover the professions and disciplines of archaeology. Archeology students (doctoral students, masters, license in archeology, etc.), with a good knowledge of animation come to complete the team to animate the practical workshops, according to the requests.

Cap’Archéo, is the scientific mediation program on archaeology led by Cap Sciences, and supported by Inrap, DRAC Nouvelle Aquitaine, the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, the Gironde department, the Rectorate of the Bordeaux Academy and the town of Pessac.

We also collaborate on many projects with researchers from the Universities of Bordeaux and Bordeaux Montaigne and the services of local authorities.
